Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park has been a location of wonder for more years than can be counted. Glaciers dug Yosemite Valley of the Merced River much deeper than the "hanging valleys" emptying into it. The result is some of the most spectacular waterfalls that can be found anywhere. We went in April, with snow everywhere, and plenty of water for the magnificent waterfalls.
The tremendous snow made a trip into the back country ill advised.

Yosemite Meadows
In the summer, Yosemite Meadows and the whole of Yosemite Valley is terribly crowded.
Going in April with snow still flying had the advantage of few people and good water flow.
At one end of Yosemite Meadows is the Merced River, El Capitan and Bridal Veil Falls (upper left).
Past the other end of the meadows is Half Dome Rock (upper right).
Above is a movie panning across Yosemite Meadow.
You can see waterfalls from Yosemite Meadows as well.

Yosemite Falls
Yosemite Falls is best in the early spring when the falls are powered by snow melt.
Crowds are also smaller, but Yosemite Valley is probably never very empty.
