When you are heading across South Dakota on I-90, you will need to stop for the night somewhere.
South Dakota is a BIG state East to West. Mitchell is a good place to stop.
There are two places to stay ONE night without expense.
Both Cabellas and Walmart allow overnight parking.

There are also several acceptable campgrounds available and a multi-night stay is often desirable.

Other places of interest include Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village
and Dakota Discovery Museum on Plains Life.
