Badlands Loop Road

The main paved road in Badlands National Park is Badlands Loop Road. It essentially runs on the top of the Badlands "wall" with plentiful scenic overlooks. Take your time with this road and stop and see the sights. For a real treat, take this road just after a spring rain when the sum comes out and the colors really "pop". Use Badlands Loop Road as an introduction to this fantastic scenery, but see the rest of this wonderful area as well

Storms come will little advance notice in the Black Hills. A fine day can turn into a heavy storm within a few minutes.

In the Badlands, you can see storms over the Black Hills coming toward you hours before they arrive.
