Every state we have been has been amazing and unique.
South Carolina certainly has unique charm and traditions.
The state is constantly trying to find the right balance of honoring the past . . .
and looking to the future.
James Island Park in Charleston SC has a fabulous drive-through Festival of Lights.
On August 21, 2017, there was a total Solar Eclipsee visible in Charleston SC. At one time it looked like there might be clouds blocking the actual eclipse.
H. L. Hunley (submarine)
The first submarine to sink an enemy ship was the H. L Hunley. The Hunley was raised in 2000 by a consortium that included author Clive Cussler.
The Hunley is on display in North Charleston, South Carolina, at the Warren Lasch Conservation Center on the Cooper River. The ship is kept in a water tank and is hard to see and photograph.
