We had to change our time for moving to South Carolina. We did not want to arrive during a solar eclipse.

Early in the Solar Eclipse, Charleston SC.

On August 21, 2017, there was a total solar eclipse visible in Charleston SC. This was a preliminary picture from early in the event.

I did not have special super-dark filters for photographing the sun, so I counted on getting moment of full eclipse.

When it was close to time for the eclipse, clouds closed in. It looked like there would be clouds blocking the actual eclipse.
